Your first Drop. Let’s make it count.

Hey Creator,

Welcome to The Drop. Let’s cut to the chase. You’re busy. We’re busy. Nobody wants to waste anybody’s time. So let’s establish a few things:

1. No fluff. If we can’t share something genuinely interesting that you can’t just Google (thanks for the tip, @imadoniseats), it won’t make the cut. This newsletter is for insights, opportunities, and data trends that we uncover—stuff you won’t find anywhere else.

2. Our data is your data. We surface public data on creators and trends—and always link back to the source. That means more eyes on your content, not less. Our edge is personalization. We match creators to people who actually care about what they’re posting. No viral lottery - just better discovery.

3. Why we’re doing this. Because we think social discovery is broken. We’re building a better way to find the right clip, rec, or review — at the right moment — from the people who actually know what they’re talking about.

But doesn’t Google already do that?

Sort of—but it’s built for websites, not reels. You’ll get outdated listicles, not a real look at where to eat tonight.

Instagram?

Nope. Their search is a mess. It’s built to keep you scrolling, not to help you find anything.

TikTok?

Closer. It surfaces local content—but it’s not built for food discovery. There’s no clean way to search, filter, or explore recs by vibe, neighborhood, or trusted creators. It’s entertainment first, not recommendation infrastructure.

That’s what we’re building—modern food discovery, rebuilt around real people, not algorithms.

We want to help your content last longer, reach the right people, and actually get celebrated—not buried in a feed.

This newsletter is part of that.

We’re building it with you, not just for you.

Hit reply and tell us what you want more of.

Nominate a creator. Drop a rec. Send a meme. Download the app. Or just say hey.

Alright, let’s do this.

A good reel should tell a story.

Try watching this with no sound. Don’t read the captions. Just hit play and feel it.

@chewyorkcity nails every beat:

Starts with the cheese pull (pro move).

Cuts to the kitchen—griddles blazing, Philly cheesesteaks flying.

Then the crowd, the chaos, the wait.

You can feel the energy building.

And finally: the unwrapping.

The anticipation.

The what-is-this-even moment.

Perfect payoff.

That’s storytelling—without a single word.

Can your reels tell a story without saying anything?

Don’t Say NYC. Say Ramen Spot Two Blocks From the B Train.

Creators are leaning hyper-local. The best-performing content isn’t “Top 10 NYC Eats” — it’s “Where to eat after a first date in the East Village.” Personal, specific, and a little chaotic = winning.

Try it: What’s one oddly specific food rec you’d swear by?
