🐾 Make It Yours

Personality is the last moat.

Great looking content just isn’t what it used to be.

It used to be rare. Expensive gear, hard-won skills, hours in the editing cave.

Now everyone has a 4K camera in their pocket, an AI assistant on tap, and pro-level editing tools with beginner-level learning curves.

That means two things:

  1. The playing field is level. Anyone can make studio-grade content on a Tuesday lunch break.

  2. The playing field is crowded. Anyone is making studio-grade content on a Tuesday lunch break.

So why would someone stop and watch you?

You.

Your taste. Your voice. Your quirks. The story only you can tell— and, more importantly, the way only you would tell it.

Johnny’s chicken quest works because it’s unmistakably Johnny: His storytelling is expressive, but doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard. His humor moves with momentum - just far enough ahead to keep you chasing it. And his worldview—that roast chicken deserves cultural reverence—somehow feels both original and relatable.

If the feed feels louder than ever, lean harder into what only you can bring to it. In a sea of sameness, personality isn’t garnish; it’s the main ingredient.

Assignment for the week:

Pick one small thing that’s unmistakably you— the way you frame a dish, the joke you always slip in, the POV you refuse to soften— and make it louder. Tag @seekeasy. We’ll feature the stand-outs in the next Drop.

It pays to be weird

Here are five creators whose personality is their secret weapon (along with a reel to demonstrate):

1. @willwanderforfood

Mostly a TMI stories diary that looks like a food account.

At least there’s dry pot…

Bring your parents to work day!

Never stop grinding, Taylor.

Do your job, Ken 🤨

What’s mine is (not) yours

When you search for tacos in the Mission, you’re not looking for my tacos.

Yours might be greasy, loud, eaten on a plastic chair with salsa dripping down your wrist.

Mine might be marinated in chipotle, topped with organic avocado, and served at a swanky Mexicali brunch spot with mezcal cocktails on the side.

That’s why we introduced archetypes in Seekeasy search—so your results actually reflect your taste. Are you a value hunter? Lowkey chic? a creature of comfort? Tap the button and watch the feed shift with you.

This is just the beginning. We’re building a platform that captures the pulse of social, pairs it with recommendations from local food creators, and serves it back in a way that actually feels personal.

DL the app and give it a shot 👇

…and please, please, please let us know what you think 🙏🏼

To the friend who always picks the spot…

You know who you are. The curator. The planner. The one who makes sure the vibe, the food, and the group chat all align.

It’s a thankless job—but we see you.

And we’re building something to make your life a whole lot easier.

It’s a new tool that helps groups vote on where to eat this weekend. No more endless texting. No more “I’m down for whatever.”

You can browse trending creator videos or drop in your own picks.

Send it to the group. They vote. Decision made.

You’re off the hook.

We’re looking for 25 prototype testers in SF and NYC. Try it. Break it. Tell us what you’d do differently.

If that sounds like you, just reply to this email and let us know.

Alright, that’s it for this week.

Find your voice. Back your taste. Trust your weird.

We’ll be back next Friday with more stories, more data, and maybe… your reel.

Until next time,

Andrew
